if Russia were to fight against China with USA, then USA would just use Russians as cannon fodder, Russians would take the heaviest blunt of the attack and do all the heavy lifting, and Americans would just swoop in in the last moment to claim victory and spoils, Americans would put bases in occupied China and start using these bases to project into Russia and threaten Russia. In less than 20 years Americans would have rewritten history and claim the victory over China was completelly due to US troops, and claim that Russian troops were just supporting Americans, they would present it as if Russians weren't even needed and even whatever victories Russians achieved, its because of American supplies.
