I recommend taking a look at the Philippines and their shockingly high birth rates. They have maternity hospitals there where young women who are only 25 are on their 8th or 9th kid and the hospitals can barely stay open because no one pays the bills. They even try to keep them prisoner in the hospitals until they pay.
That's a country with a lot of Spanish Catholic influence and so brith control is something that doesn't exist to them.
Education about birth control, specifically, is what I attribute it to.

In a society where women are expected to compete against men and work full time, a society which affords ZERO opportunity for citizens to make time to reproduce at healthy ages.
African women are right to start reproducing at younger ages than their European counterparts, because that is the natural time that a woman is supposed to be bearing children. The problem with Africans is they have too many children die to lack of education, birth control, or frankly anything better to be doing with their time.
Europeans are right to be having only 1-2 kids, but they suffer under economic demands that force them to wait until they are in their late 30's to even start considering having children. The West needs a wholesale reevaluation of the purpose of the economy (to support happy loves of the citizens, not to simply generate "GDP").

It's not that people aren't having kids, everyone I know besides the losers on here has kids. People are only having one or two. My fucking grandpa had 12 siblings, my mom had 6 siblings and my mom has 2 sons. In ancient times people had to have kids, it was basically a requirement to survive even if they didn't actually want them.
Now only people who want kids will go through the struggles of having them while people who don't want them will choose not to.
And as we know, preferences are heavily genetic.
So what's really happening isn't society dying, but all the people who aren't naturally fecund are being boiled out of the gene pool.
Give it enough generations and people will self select into a society of super breeders. Assuming they don't get destroyed by nigger rape first.

We are moving quickly into a post-work society where AI and robots will destroy the ability of many people to earn good livings. Besides that, human population is just too high, which drives interpersonal conflict over resources (see: cost of housing), as well as polluting the environment with human waste and garbage, and just making us all miserable because there are too many damn people around. Have you ever been to a theme park and said to yourself "gee, I'm glad it's so crowded today!" or been driving and said to yourself "you know what this trip needs? More traffic!"
We simply don't like being around so many people, and declining birth rates SHOULD be seen as a good thing except that all the WRONG PEOPLE are having all the kids. THAT'S the problem.
