Because this society is a slow acting poison. It is nothing but pure anticipation. I am waiting for a payoff that never comes. It just keeps getting worse, and worse, and worse. Every time we reach a breaking point, it never breaks. It just gets worse.
It's slowly peeling off an infinitely long bandaid when I want the thing ripped off. I would prefer the horrors of war to the neverending psychological hell that is.
