Sorry for the incoming blog, but I really do not understand.
Ever since I was a child, I was able to clearly tell right from wrong. Even though I grew poorer than most, I never stole anything, I never mistreated animals or other children, I never vandalized things, I never got addicted to drugs or porn, I wasn't promiscuous, I never talked behind other people's back... But I wasn't a weak coward either, as I advocated for myself when necessary and never got bullied. I also went to Church every Sunday and actually took religion seriously, unlike anyone else my age. Sure, I did hate school for the abusive prison it was and eventually had an angry suicidal atheist phase in my late teens because I was lied to and betrayed by almost everyone around me, but I mostly recovered from that and I now try to act morally simply because I believe it's the right thing to do in order to build a better world, not because I'm afraid of God punishing me or anything like it.
I know I'm sounding very arrogant and "holier than thou" right now, but it's objective that I'm extremely different from the vast majority of people. Why is that? It can't be because of my parents, since my father was non-existent in my life and my mother, well, she's a woman, so what could she possibly know; at one point she completely stopped caring about me in order to pursue the career she always wanted.
So is morality something that only a few chosen ones are born with? Is it IQ? The diet maybe? Give me some valid explainations or I might start thinking I'm the second coming of Christ or something.
Sometimes I wish I was, at least I'd feel like everyone else.

I did repent and continue to do so. And no, being suicidal and angry at God for all the evil I was seeing in the world did not turn me into a degenerate. I could have killed myself at any moment if I wished to, but until then, I had no reason to make my life even worse by becoming an addict.

Probably a strong influence of your genetics. You grew up without a father, but have you ever met him or know for sure what kind of person he is/was? Your father's genes plays a very large part in what you are today, that could explain it.

To make things short, part of what made me have that atheist phase was the fact that I found out that my father wasn't my biological father, hence probably the reason why he never treated me like a son. My biological father apparently abandoned me at birth and then died about a decade later after he had got married to another woman, so I never had a chance to know him. It felt like my life was all a lie and a joke; the fact everyone around me was trash didn't help either.

Unlike some obvious trolls in this thread, don't blame yourself over your teenage phase years. Being suicidal or atheist is nothing compared to what the majority of today's degenerate people are like even outside their teenage years.

it could be genetical. humans lie on a spectrum: those more group oriented (morals) and those less group oriented. none of these two behavioural patterns are 100% enviromental: our brain are wired into falling into one of the two cathegories. you might have born a good group oriented person. remember one thing: we as human beings, particularly caucasians and mongoloids, were evolutionary selected to be group oriented, because most of our history and prehistory was a fight for survival among groups and not among individuals, effectively making you a good human being. individualists, amoralists, atheists, lefitsts and so forth, are basically mutant: racial debris that spawned because we created a very easy civilization, without wars, famines and diseases, thus allowing them to exist, despite being completely disfunctional for the survival of the group in the normal ecology in wich we developed. don't turn your back on God another time and good luck, you're part of the human resistance against subhumanity rising

The world has always had crime and in ancient times it was far worse. Also, the news is about bad stories that alarms and shock people. It's not a realist representation of the entire world, just a microfocus on the worst parts. When you were a child you knew nothing about the world. Now your perception has greatly expanded but your limited understanding of that perception has not kept up.
