Why does society believe it's normal to spend 1 to 2 hours every day commuting to work, just to sit inside an office and work on your computer all day when you could do that from home? If you commute for two hours in total per day that's 21 days of your life a year spent sitting on your ass in traffic.

IDK how you people do it. I'm lucky I got pretty wealthy but before I was wealthy I was literally homeless for like a year. It's a long story how it all worked out but without money and independence I was just like "nah, fuck this". It just blows my mind, as a person who is pretty well off and doesn't have to live that life, to see how miserable everyone is in it, and then unironically defend capitalism, ardently, at every turn.

Honestly remote work is the best thing to come out of this shitty decade. The roads in California have almost been bearable recently, I'm sure it's done wonders for the air quality as well but I still have respiratory inflammation issues I'll probably die early from. California dream baby!

my work commute is 3 miles. Supermarket is 1 mile away. About 5 grocery stores within 5 miles. Target and Walmart are about 2 miles away. I basically buy everything online now though anyway except food. Haven't been in walmart in years.

It doesn't matter, we're far better off not all clogging up the roads and suffering for hours each day just to get to and from a cuck cube. There needs to be legislation made to push remote work, fuck what the employers think. It's good for the workers and good for the environment. Puts Mexican babysitters out of business as well.

I had a nightmare once that changed my perspective on time, I realized how I have a finite amount no more no less and I'm not sure what happens after. If I were to waste my life in misfortune and misery thanks to a job I would feel immense regret on my death bed and could never forgive myself.

i was driving an hour into northern virginia, working 9 or 10 hours, then the commute back was 2 hours. i started getting drunk on the commute home, i'd get home and sit on my deck listening to hank williams and merle haggard getting even more drunk and consider killing myself. then one day i was like "why don't i just get a different job?". i did and it's fucking awesome. you can do it too.
