Shonen anime are based because they are almost always about a weak young man seeking to become stronger to achieve some selfish goal, discovering that they care more about protecting things that are more important than their original selfish goal, and upon that discovery manage to find the strength that they sought after and eventually accomplish their original goal anyway.

I have pretty strong positive feelings about the end of AOT. There was no good way to end it. I think Isayama did the best he could.

Ive started FMA multiple times and just stoped every time.
I don’t dislike it, it just doesn’t really pull me in.

I can’t take deathnore seriously enough to even open the first chapter. It sounds so horribly retarded and I don’t understand how it could be interesting.

AoT kinda lost me shortly before it became “based”. I really love the gear and the titan fights but there is a lot of cringe and some MAJOR story elements are retroactively broken.

I haven't watched or read a shonen in a very long time but I enjoyed it, though to be fair I watched it with my little brother and I enjoy watching things with him. I only saw season 1-3 though.
I've never understood how someone can be an anime fan. I wouldn't call myself a movie fan or video game fan just because I enjoy certain genres or specific works.
