The Queen's Beasts

I have a hunch there is some kind of hidden meaning in this coin.

But why beasts? And why does the queen turn her back to the lion and looks toward the nazi eagle?

Things that make you politely go "ahem".

>The Chimera is a symbol representing the tripartite year with each of the creature's heads, the lion, goat, and serpent, representing the calendar seasons, respectively. Seeing the Chimera is immortal, it comes to represent time and the timeless, as well as the transitional changes occurring with the shift of seasons.
I think it's that last part which is probably why it was chosen symbolism-wise.

the chimera is a brit thing?

I got a 2oz one of these when it was $55. I should have bought 100, they are very nice:

Originated in Greek mythology. She probably included it for its esoteric meaning. Because it represents the three parts of the year it also represents the three stages of life: youth / middle age / elderly and a country's history: origin / expansion / decay. You can understand why that would be meaningful symbolism to an aging Monarch.

It's a Griffin, of Edward III

Griffin of Edward III. Looks like the modern fat german eagle anyway.

kinda surprised the is not surrounded by corgis. maybe that is a one of one coin.

Kek.. They don't sell dragon meat at the market though

>cow
You realise that's a bull, right?

...
believe it or not but i had forgot how it was called

>The Yale of Beaufort

I'm not buying the "official" explanation. Looks like something evil.

Found this, personally : en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Queen's_Beasts

santa jorge killed them all

>nazi eagle
it's a griffin you ape. It guards either gold in the Greco-Roman tradition or divine power in the Christian tradition
Nazi eagle is next to the chimera on her 7 o'clock
Note how there are two lions, one crowned above the queen, and one uncrowned behind her.

You're right user it's all a conspiracy and has nothing to do with heraldy dating back to the 15th century at all

nice!

unicorn of scotland. kek.

Yeah you just keep studying your little coin while Western civilization collapses around us.
This is a productive discussion on the political board.
Thanks for absolutely nothing, moron

The zodiac story starts in Virgo and ends in Leo, perhaps it's related.
