An Alberta Court of Queen's Bench policy requiring anyone asked to serve on a jury to provide proof of two or more vaccinations has been quietly posted online.
"The Court of Queen's Bench is taking precautions to protect your health during the jury selection and trial process to minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19," the policy states.
"You will be required to produce your Alberta-issued COVID-19 vaccine record with the QR code."
A spokesperson for Alberta Justice could not say when the policy was posted.

Well, it depends.
It's a complex issue of law, and I would say this is contempt of court because to condition access to justice, or condition the justices which one access, is contemptible.
Judges are independent of the Legislature.
For example, in BC the first Judge, Begbie, operated under a commission from the Crown without any legislated powers at all.
Statutes may concern the operation of courts to some degree, but they cannot trench on judicial independence.
Now one might take this to mean that Judges can make up whatever rules they like, but they cannot, a Judge is a son of the law, and a son obeys his father.
