Watched "The Birds" last night. While still a (((hollywood))) production, you can catch a glimpse of the cultural norms whites used to aspire to. Every boomer I've ever talked to has poo-pooed this as being "stuffy" or made fun of it in some way. As a Gen Xer who has lived in the shadow of the Boomers my whole life, I hope you are right. That said, there is a lot of dysfunction in my generation, and those after it are even worse. I think it is going to take a dramatic crisis of some sort to bring people back to reality. I am not talking about a manufactured crisis like COVID, either. It would have to be something that created real suffering for people on a level they have never experienced before.
