You have sales a t-0 with no advertising or broad advertising and you have t-n with advertising individually, if sales grow less than expected at t-0 it clearly doesn't work.

Sure its more opaque as one could attribute many factors to the not increased sales impact, but its the most obvious, the one you as a company are spending money on.
