and the consequences are diminished complexity of all biological systems (including us).
Our biome is being destroyed by the fungicides used in agriculture. It's why all the insects and trees are dying. These compounds are long-lived and accumulative.
Fungal mycelium provide complex nutrients for plants, animals, and other microorganisms. Mycelial structures produce proteins with immunogenic effects, making them a great repository for medicine.
Some fungi, such as ergot, amanita muscaria, and psilocybins famously produce hallucinogens, compounds which may provide humanity with a tool to communicate with the fractal mushroom entities, which reside in a slice of reality adjacent to the limits of our perception.
Our ancestors had various ways of perceiving these entities, which they referred to as woodland spirits or fairies. Today we might call them aliens, but most brainwashed, vaccinated NPC's can't even imagine them.
What are your thoughts on the Mushroom Kingdom? Surely contact with an alien entity qualifies as political.
>What are your thoughts on the Mushroom Kingdom? Nice of the Princess to invite us over for a picnic eh Luigi

Paul Stammets tells you all you need to know on this topic. He has one of those banned ted talks about how to create an old growth forest in your backyard.

Yes, the lore of mushrooms spans many diverse cultures and traditions.
Their fractal nature is the clue to their intelligence. It is complex order, only a fraction of which penetrates our 3-D reality. People who have used hallucinogens have described fractal geometry pervading all things.
Your ancestors believed in fairy tales. Were they not based?

I grew cubensis for a little over 10 years. I still have a stockpile but I haven't eaten any in about a year now. To really trip hard enough to encounter "entities" requires a pretty heavy dose of psilocybin or lsd which is a long uncomfortable ride for me at this point. DMT and salvinornin alpha offer an intense experience without the need to clear the entire day's schedule. I've definitely encountered and felt the presence of these "entities" far more often with them as opposed to mushrooms and lsd. Especially "jesters". I didn't even know that was a thing other people experienced and it blows my mind reading accounts from other people that are so exactly descriptive of my own experiences. What are these entities?

So much of their existence remains a mystery to limited beings such as us.
Mushrooms are considered to be a third form of life (other than plants and animals) afaik
They have some kind of hive-mind where they communicate with enzymes or bioelectric signals
Am I missing something?

Blood cult vs mushroom cult.

I remember the fall before my dad died in 2015, my suburban development had a crazy growth of mushrooms allover the development. We're slavs and mushroom hunting is how slavs and scandis do picnics so we gathered a bunch. Never even seen poisonous ones after that, Americans are scared of mushrooms i bet the management sprayed the fuck out of it. I know because i told my American toxicology professor the next week after me and my parents gathered em and she was freaking the fuck out saying im at risk of dying/poisoning when literally my whole family does this and no one gets sick. I dont get it. My mom told me her coworkers got freaked out when she told.them i pick wild blueberries and blackberries every summer too

Yes I think it's a hivemind, but there is probably a higher dimensionality to it that we can't perceive.
They could even be responsible for some pic related.
I eat mushrooms. Lots. I collect dried mushrooms. I purchase mushroom juices. I drink a shot of mushroom juice when I feel a little blah. My Father in law harvested mushrooms in the forest. He would dry them. We ate them all the time in stews, sauces. But you have to know mushrooms.

Wild hunter-gathering is what makes a people into a folk. Your ancestors smile down on you.
