Because they don't care about protesting as protesting. They care about protesting as a social activity. They like it when people they like go out to protest because they can go too, meet new people, and maybe find someone to date or have some fun throwing bricks through windows.

It isn't that shallow (though no doubt there are progressives who protest just for networking opportunities). It's because they're brainwashed. Radicals have been conditioned to literally see certain demographics as "the other," in much the same way that I see niggers and spics as "the other." There is no way to reconcile that type of fundamental distrust. If they aren't a part of the in-group, then it doesn't matter if you are ideologically compatible. They are the enemy.

Or just expose the media's corruption like what's happening now. Trump may be gone, but that makes no difference... the "damage is done" as they say. He inspired tens if not hundreds of millions to question authority and stand up for what's right, despite the consequences.

user you are replying to is right form my experience. Used to house share with some lefties and they were active during the jorge groid protests. Whilst they have genuine prejudice against white males the main motivator is to meet new people.
