The reason Communism never took hold in the USA is because there is actual class mobility in the USA. You can actually improve your station in life with hard work. This is not true in systems like Communism. You are where you are and you're stuck being a peasant farmer for 40 generations. There's no mobility. The citizens in the USA can actually go to school, become a doctor, and become significantly wealthier within the span of a single generation. People who have something to lose never turn to leftism.
