I've lived here my whole life, I always knew the city was mediocre, especially since it's literally nothing but suburbs linked together, but what really struck me was pic rel.
The housing developers are in kahoots with the city councillors, the councillors refuse to take public transit because of how awful it is, the train system was built 2 years ago and it breaks down every day because the mayor (former Liberal MP) gave the contract to SNC Lavalin (sound familiar?) Despite them having the lowest score of all bidders.
The councillors are corrupt and inept, and this guy's response? "Haha guy's like, just deal with it okay? Let us be boring again haha" Federal Government attracts a lot of complacent, mediocre people who would not be able to keep their jobs in the private sector. I did a student position in college and I worked a solid 60-120 mins a week, despite getting paid for 37.5 hours. I had to get a 50Gb Data plan for all the Netflix I would watch (not allowed to connect to wifi) because there was just NOTHING to do. It was literally welfare with extra steps.
Can I get a genuine energy/morale check? Will they make it to the weekend? Are there still a lot of people? Is there still honking? Anyone here actually in Ottawa?
