Mushroom in brain

He has a fungus inside his brain, doctors say they don't understand why the man is still alive

Tyson Botanius should not be amongst the living anymore. He has had a mushroom growing in his brain for a few years now. It is so called "Tyson sphere".

A sample of the fungus was examined by a fungus expert: he says it is "Cladophialophora banter" -mushroom and the man was likely infected in Costa Rica.

He fell while riding a bicycle and hurt his arm and broke the skin.

It seems somehow a fungus invaded through the wound. Fungal spore entered the blood and ended up in his brains because it was small enough to penetrate blood brain barrier.

In a magnetic resonance image it is shown that there is indeed a mushroom now in parts of his brain.

Some doctors thought it could be a cancer but it wasnt.

Parts of the mushroom had been removed several times.

It always grows back within 6 months of time.

Is his name really botanius or did he change it? That’s insane.
This guy is a real life Harold from fallout

Do they not give him systemic antifungal?

great work sherlock!

They did but it only slowed down the mushroom growth. Did not stop it completely.

There was a guy who injected magic mushroom tea and ended up with fungus growing in his blood. Pretty funny desu

Lucky he's not named Botanus, because the shroom would then be growing in a rather itchy place.

Kek that image in the news article

my blood is pure weed, this is normal

I bet he's a real fungi

kek

I assume this would lead to death pretty quickly, with fungus clogging everything up, but I wonder if you'd feel the psilocybin on the way out? When they started growing, was he just permanently psychotic? Or did he die first?

He just got ill and got treatment

Too bad
