Why do colleges force you to take classes you dont need?

im a welder and would like to get an engineering degree so i can be promoted to weld engineer but i dont want to kill myself studying gay shit like english, history and advanced physics ill never actually need

>that I'll never need
You won't need it when you start m8, but one day you will and then you'll realize you're fucked.
A lot of it is gate-keeping, but always respect STEM.

I work on site and last week I threw a fucking wrench at this cunt who was trying to cut an oxy tank with a angle grider- fuck knows why.
Do you want to be that guy why doesn't understand how gas works and why "no pressure" doesn't mean "empty".

Do you understand how shock works? so often I see welders try to weld small extencions onto large resolant pieces of steel and the result is that when the steel beam takes an impack all the shock is transfered to some shitty weld which gradualy fractures

I'm barely litterate- but I know about physics and I know about Rome.
Stick at it cunt, don't uit like a soft cunt

Must be a USA thing to get more money out of you.

>I work on site and last week I threw a fucking wrench at this cunt who was trying to cut an oxy tank with a angle grider- fuck knows why.
Supremely based

Universities are a globohomo right of passage, they need to make sure you are properly indoctrinated before allowing you to have job that pays well

>that i'll never need
for me it's the english and history and sociology tier classes
t. EE
i have more respect for you than engineers trust me they have fallen. so many women enrolled for example

nicely put
i try to explain this to people they dont listen
the majority of people graduate still dont realize this simple truth so its extra hopeless. they really think theyre that much smarterer

>why do colleges force you to take classes you dont need?

Money /thread sage

Did you know for instance about F.A.S.T powdered metal welding?
If you didn't know physics you're fucked.
You've got a microwave, a vaccuum tube, a massive arc welder and 300g of powdered uranium alloy
It's how you make ball bearings that absorb oil, how you make DU penetrators for tank rounds, and how you carbide drill bits.
Ever wonder how you actually make the carbides everyone uses every day?

Our entire education system is designed to produce tamed NPC's. It's not really education. It's indoctrination. They don't want critical thinkers. They want conformity to the system. That's why you spend all your childhood learning useless information you forget a week after the test.

>like to get an engineering degree
> shit like english, history and advanced physics
idk what school ur going to, but we never had to study english or history in our engineering school. We had 1 mandatory elective class, but we could study whatever we wanted so long as it wasnt related to our field. So I did musicology. You could have also done econ, management, etc...

>advanced physics
you wont be studying advanced physics
you`ll be studying newtons laws, some euler, thermo, lagrange, electrodynamics, fluids, etc..
and towards the end you`ll do some relativity and quantum
you wont really need the last two, but the others do come up from time to time, and classical mechanics comes up all over the place. Its very useful to know at the back of your head.

Because you do need to know all of that stuff and you're a fool to think otherwise. That said college doesn't really teach you any of that. Its just kike indoctrination class. Same as K-12.

>tfw we'll never get a proper ending to Big O

Just remnants of the old "liberal education" idea, they don't want spergs coming out of college knowing how to design shit but not knowing who Julius Caesar was.
I don't know about "advanced physics" though, if anything my aero engi degree program could've used another physics and math course.

Go pick up a fucking trade, if you just want to learn specific skills. Universities were not job training centers 100 years ago. They were a place for the children of the wealthy to receive a secondary education which would prepare them to be serious professionals and pioneers in their fields of study pursued in graduate school and beyond. The general education requirements reflect that. The elite want their children to be more than high skill wagies, and you should want the same for yourself.

everyone says this but you neglect stem
literally 95+% of stem is maths and programming
where is the indoctrination?

>why do colleges force you to take classes you dont need?
It props up the other liberal arts colleges. Otherwise, they would just go under and they can't allow that. Other reasons too.

To indoctrinate and brainwash you with their agenda
Why else?
I learned more from the internet and pol than i ever learned in liberal arts classes

In these bullshit classes we have to take to satisfy our bach core requirements. Or in the case of my chemistry class the female professor had us do a weekly discussion about how we NEED more women and minorities in STEM. Oh man did I go off on a rant that week. She actually really wanted me to keep taking her courses too because I was getting consistent As on everything and actually understood what we were doing not just the bullshit copy/paste mindset many have in college.

This anti-intellectualism is why the right is losing, you dense fucks. Universities have existed in the West for a thousand years. They are not going anyway. Take them back. Don't just turn your noses at them and work fucking wagie jobs which will never allow you near the levers of power. You cannot become a lawyer without going to university nor a professor - but that is what you must become if you want the power to right the ship.

they force you to take classes you don't need because colleges want people to drop out.

I was referring to the humanities courses user. For example, you don't get taught history anymore. You get taught about we wuz kangz and chedderman and poos had loos before the ebil british...ect.

>english
Composition and logic is a good thing to know and practice. Both are essential to being an engineer or anyone in any technical profession. Especially if you have to write reports. But you don't need the gender studies or any of that garbage.
>advanced physics ill never actually need
>engineering degree
Everything in engineering is based on those advanced physics and mathematics. If you know those, your profession will be much easier. If you don't, you're limiting yourself to doing nothing but gruntwork.

Taking western civ 1000-1700 right now. Been several things to make us feel bad for jews. Started slave trade this week. Fucking over this course but have to take it.

gotta justify scamming you out of your money more than they already do.
9/10 jobs use middle school education at best.
.9/10 jobs use highschool or above.
0.1/10 jobs use college or above.
only 1/4 of the classes i took in college were actually college level, most were re-hashes of highschool classes.

Because exists to extract money from you

Naturally they're covering the crypto Jews who started the slave trade, right?

>be me
>angry young man
>constantly abusing leftist fucktards
>no regard for their age, position of authority
>dropped gloves with ANTIfags regularly
>46 infractions, 7 suspensions, 4 expulsions
>no criminal charges
when you try to enroll and they see that record the first thing they want to know is "what the fuck did you even do?"
The second thing they want to know is "why are you still trying?".

Struggle and never cease struggling Any Forums

>Or in the case of my chemistry class the female professor had us do a weekly discussion about how we NEED more women and minorities in STEM
thats kind of unprofessional of her, i think theres no harm if she brought it up a couple of times, but to have dedicated sessions to something other than your work comes at the expense of what you`re studying for.

you dont have to make it political at all
it doesnt need to be political at all
just say you pay to be educated in this class, and the fact she dedicates this time to something else feels unprofesional
now if she wanted to promote her ideas as some more general theme, in a way that doesnt detract from your work, fair enough. The priority should always be the class and not something else.

Go to a dedicated trade school or tech school and get an associates degree related to welding. Its not perfect but its better than 4 year colleges that require a fuckton of faff courses however tech school gives you the bare minimum english, math, & history and other generic topics needed to make it in life plus its a whole hell of a lot cheaper and I had no true Woke teachers or professors at all since about 90 percent of the tech schools classes were white males and the last 10 percent were the female nurses.

>. Especially if you have to write reports
in principle, you should already know how to write decent-ish reports coming out of highschool, but anyway

In principle maybe. In practice? No.

The anti-intellectualism is the fundamental anathema against liberal federalist moral faggotry. Yes, universities have existed for eons, but compared to the number of people who go to college versus the number of people who don't, you should be questioning why society is so intellectualist when nature isn't.

>9/10 jobs use middle school education at best.
more like 3 or 4
>.9/10 jobs use highschool or above.
more like 6-7
>0.1/10 jobs use college or above.
more like 1-2

I learned mig in my garage doing sheet metal. Is welding a decent job and how hard is it to get certified. I want to do something better than fast food while I go through college.

We get it you own a home
