Because without censorship, people naturally resort back to conservative thoughts as they age. Leftist thinking is primarily a young person's political slant, and that's obvious. When you're young you don't own anything, so you see people who do as oppressors. As you age and acquire wealth and resources, you shift over to the right to protect those acquisitions.
The thing is, both left and right actually do want the same thing; to own the fruits of your labour. The o ly difference is, the leftist thinks this means everyone earns the same amount because no labour can be valued over another. The rightist thinks that all labour can be ranked, and fuck you if you don't earn enough. There's value to both thought processes, but only the leftist wants to control speech in an effort to ultimately control thought
