HIV isn't really the worst one because it doesn't spread that rapidly. It only has a high infection rate the first 2-3 weeks after a recent infection. It's also quite difficult to spread it just through sex, it's easier to spread through blood transfusions.
HPV on the other hand can be quite bad. Even the strains that do not show immediate symptoms can give you a premature death of ass or throat cancer when you're 45-60.
