What are the best and worst parts of living in a small town?

Well I have no worries about being robbed except by bears stealing bird feeders

It's quiet and peaceful, but there aren't many opportunities. It's good for retired people, but not for young people. That's about it.

This, lack of job opportunities and things to do are really the main downsides.

That's the retirement plan. I just want a gate to close behind me. I'll go into town for supplies when I need them.

Used to live in a small town north of Newcastle with a pop of natural beauty

Cons:

>population is dumb as fuck
>nothing to do beyond the beach
>swaths of tourists during the summer
>no opportunity for jobs outside of trades, small business almost always go under after the first year due to no local support
>far from hospitals
>no public transport or very poor public transport

Only for the retired

tourist town. Too high-maintenance for local folk only.
