Because Americans think 'blacks' are masculine. Literally. Every other civilisation considered blacks to be effeminate due to their womanly behaviours; their obsession with jewellery and status, their loud, abrasive behaviour, their lack of care for others and their selfishness, their desire to dance and groom themselves, and so on. Americans consider these blacks to be 'alpha', they think 'alpha' behaviour is to be a loud, obnoxious freak that is concerned with fashion and has emotional outbursts.
Homosexuals, being effemiante men like blacks, therefore appear to Americans to be 'masculine'.
Reminder that 'real' men are steadfast, modest, dutiful, frugal, reverent and caring. This was perceived as the ideal man from England to Arabia to Japan. It is only in Africa, and America, where it is otherwise.
