Well, that settles that. But this article isn't over yet, which means there's more to the story.
Have you ever asked yourself if there's a difference between a cylinder and a sphere? More than likely not, but it's never too late to try new things.
Take out your piece of paper with two parallel lines on it. Go ahead, dig it out of the trash. Wrap one end around to meet the other, making a cylinder. Carefully observe the parallel lines — they remain parallel, don't they? That's because cylinders are flat.
The Universe being flat has to do with the curvature of space time. If it was closed then the Universe would eventually curve back in on itself over long enough distances, of it was open then it would curve outward and things would move further apart over greater distances. Instead it looks like it's flat, so two beams of light that are parallel to each other would remain parallel as they travel long distances, and not bend toward or away from each other.
Nicholas Carter
It’s a measure of how parallel light behaves across vast distances. There’s been ongoing debate for decades using different observation methods whether there is an incredibly small positive or negative curvature, or none at all.

It's a toroid. With a black hole at the centre, continuously transforming energy
>fLaT Guys we got them! It's over! Scientists say the universe is flat!!! >What about all the other science about the globe Nononono! Those are the (((shill))) scientist. These ones are the real ones because I think it corresponds to me insane views.
Aiden Ramirez
So Space-Time can be essentially flat and even, while also internally generating vortices and otherwise spherical and toroidal objects?
One of these contradicts the other.
Aaron Cooper
The point is that the empirical observations of spherical objects like the planet are accurate, but on the scale of the universe, such things are actually flat and the 3Dimensionality is an illusion.
