When I think in sentences, in other words when I have a single "thought" I can perceive the entire sentence beginning to end. Imagine reading this sentence instantly and then moving to the next one. Sometimes it's useful but in general I tend to use my monolog at the same rate that I speak.

I think a good example is the reaction people had when the covid pandemic was announced.
NPCs immediately feared for their lives, not unlike when an animal has a primal fight-or-flight response, while non-NPCs had several lines of thought at once, ranging from genuine concern to "something is off".

The npc mind is what happens when all of the intellectual stimulus you receive even from a young age is controlled and curated. It's instilled into you from infancy not to think for yourself and to listen to authority, that part isnormal.
The difference is, parents are supposed to guide your mind out of the innocence of childhood and into the world of independent thought. I read with my internal monologue as well, though i read faster than i speak.
But i think its just because i used to read alot when i was growing up, and there is a limit to it, otherwise i get ahead of myself and i have to backtrack a bit since i skipped/jumbled some words.
Before i watch that video, i have seen a video where guys would try to speak over their own voice, which was recorded in real time and delayed by some short ammount.
I feel like i would struggle too and i would have to try and really focus to get over it.
