I think I tend to prefer men to women because I find them attractive, easier to get along with, and I like dick too. However I can't ever seem to make anything more than friends with benefits to work with men.
In my experiences women tend to be pretty affectionate. Lots of non-sexual physical affection, lots of kissing, pretty attentive with gifts and the like, love to say cute things, etc. I've enjoyed pretty much all but one experience I've had with women because of that, they seem to put romance foremost.
But in my experience with guys, their idea of a relationship is basically buying me food sometimes, sleeping in the same bed, and fucking me daily. I just don't really get it. Its been a mix between me pursing relationships with men and them pursuing relationships with me, so its not like they're just not really interested in one. Some guys will go out of their way to make an exclusive relationship with me but I don't really see what they get from it considering they can fuck me without dating me. Is it just the feeling of exclusivity or consistent sex that they want? That's what it feels like anyways, given that the only affection they've initiated with me are sex or the occasional quick kiss. It seems like most of the guys I've dated are happy with me and I give them plenty of attention, satisfy them sexually, cook for them, etc; and they seem to like me, but they don't seem to "love" me per say.
I've had one night stands with women which have more romance than some several month relationships I've had with men. Is there like a switch I have to flip or something? Am I just absurdly unlucky? What gives?

I think it does suck, but that's something you have to get used to. I've gotten pretty good at flirting because I do it a lot, I do it a ton, and you just get really good at the back and forth once you've been through it more than a few times.
Also about making moves, honestly what I've found works for me as both the pursuer and recipient, honestly just ask straightforward without dumping a ton of emotion into it. Just ask them if they're busy and look for a time when they're relatively free to briefly talk about something and just ask "Hey so I've been interested in you and if you would be too, do you wanna explore and see if we can pursue something? Totally cool if you're not interested though!"
Also I'd recommend to just like, be friends with someone beforehand? Like actual friends, just try to hang out and be a fun person to be around without trying to get together with them immediately. That applies for you too, you should be okay with being friends with someone even if you know there will be no relationship.

Yeah that's sorta my experience too. Guys rarely won't let me stay the night though, but I think maybe they have different ideas for romance. For me it seems like whenever I try to do something non-sexually romantic, it seems like its just something they begrudgingly tolerate so they can fuck me.
