As a chaser it feels bad seeing tranners call one another trannies. I guess it's different from the social variant of the n word (with the soft "a", rather than hard "r"), because, at least in the circles I hang around, tranners don't really have trans pride; they're just miserable about being trans. They definitely don't like that chasers prefer they're trans. This type of shit. So I feel it retains all context of being a slur, even when it comes from someone on the inside.

Any time you remind them of what they really are, it brings up a type of hateful, self loathing one could only imagine.
For some it takes a constant reminder they are just as much a woman as any, too keep from having a legit breakdown.

Yeah I would very much vibe with the reclaiming of that word. It's just so much more convenient to say than Trans Girl or Trans Woman. Like that's a mouthful to say every time and it always sounds so formal. I'm sure people have had a lot of bullshit being bullied with it though and I get not wanting to make those people uncomfortable. But like the word queer got reclaimed. Surely tranny or tranner can too.

I like tranna. Much better than tranner or tran or whatever. I still 'feel' tranny more, but perhaps tranna will grow on me.
