words can have multiple definitions for different contexts, so woman can essentially be synonymous with female in a biological context. but woman can also refer to the gendered usage of woman. in which case trans women can be women.
but, because there can definitely be a difference that exists, laws should try to take things into context. so trans women who transition after puberty should not be allowed to compete in womens sports. but youngshits probably should, being that they develop with a lot of female characteristics.
prison... is a hard one, but I'd almost definitely say that those who become trans after being convicted probably shouldn't be allowed to move. since there is definitely room there for abuse.

I'm trans and I mostly agree. In the end policy should serve the people as best as it can. Trans women are so few in number. Why not house them separately to keep them safe and to keep people safe from them? Why not do the same for restrooms and the like? The idea that we must either hurt transgender people or treat them precisely the same is simply wrong and small-minded. It shows that safety is only part of the story here for the anti-transgender activists, with the other being punishment. Transgender kids are victims until they grow up, at which people they are monsters to be endangered until they conform.

We can keep everyone safe, protect everyone's freedom, and be good to one another. Maintaining some sex-based spaces is not a problem provided that transgender women are kept safe as well, but no one is fighting for this because those same people who wish to exclude us don't care about our well-being at all. It'd be good if everyone took a less black and white view of things.
