- Sometimes I love it. Sometimes I hate it. It has its ups and downs. When you first start, you're basically slave and work sometimes 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. After a while of paying your dues, you become a "career" employee. Once that happens, you have the ability to move around within the organization to positions with better hours and different work (any thing from being a secretary to an engineering technician that fixes machines the length of a football field, to an IT helpdesk worker).
I started out sorting letter mail, bounced around a bit to various offices, then went back to sorting letters. However, I only do about 3 hours of work with my current assignment, but I'm still paid for the remaining 5 hours of my shift even though I don't do any other work. I've been slowly using my free time on the clock to teach myself frontend web development.
The only downside is my off days are Tuesday and Wednesday, so I don't get the weekend off, and I have to work 10PM to 6:30AM.
Trying to sleep while the sun is up has been an absolute bitch at times. Sometimes you only get 4 hours of sleep because your body refuses to fall asleep. Then other times, you'll sleep 8 hours but when you wake up, you're still tired. I've actually been contemplating going back to working during the day so I can get some sleep, but I really like getting paid to do nothing.
- I don't know. Aside from a small clique of butch lesbians who saw my Tinder profiles, no one else in this building of 300+ people know I'm trans, or if they do, they haven't treated me any differently. Whenever pride comes around, they put up a huge banner and I've seen other employees who I know to be straight treat other obviously gay employees like everyone else, so things have been chill here for the most part.
>mtf
>fullstack dev
>generally yeah, but rather just do backend
>not really. they think jokingly being sexist is a funny way to validate me ("woman moment", "user can't code shes a girl") and they're right.
there is one incel guy whom i dont really want to be alone with thats doable
>mtf
>childcare industry, admin / finance role
>yes, i love it
>not at all (assuming they know im trans in the first place)
>Bi, HRT enby, manmode at work with slightly loose suits to hide conetits
>Language teacher
>Absolutely love my job, involved in lots of campus activities, teachers and students love me
>No discrimination but I'm not out in any sense yet. I'm fine with them thinking I'm just a very fashionable and somewhat effeminate dude until there's a good reason to tell them. I also feel like I have to be the absolute best teacher I can possibly be if I want them to eventually accept me as any kind of queer person in education in my country. But that's pressure I put on myself I guess.

we usually don't talk much beyond pics and checking if they got paid.
Also I'm sure some of my more hip coworkers have gotten the vibe from me already, especially as my hair has grown out, but nobody really cares so far.

Bi M
Power distribution engineer, it is not mechanical engineering which disapoints me a bit and idk if it really even is engineering but hey it pays bills.
My coworkers do not know and idk if I should tell the pansexual i work with about it.

Yeah it’s pretty sweet. I do mostly CAD work at home and it’s fantastic. Boss used to be hesitant to let me work from home, but I work at twice the speed of everyone else so he’s cool with it now.
I told them I was bi and the response was a resounding “ok”.
>mtf
>gunsmith
>basically no discrimination whatsoever
The guys at work are pretty far right. They were informed by my boss after my background check. Initially they were standoffish until they realised I could take a joke.
I wish customers would stop asking me out.
