What are some good suicide methods not involving guns, cars or high places?
With good with a good amount of painlessness to effectiveness ratios? Doesn't have to be completely painless but it's a bonus.

you can just find a tree with really amazing strong branch jump from it instead of kicking chair, that way your body weight will be enough to immediately break your neck and kill you instead of dying from asphyxiation
I doubt it would be that easy. There is a lot of math that goes into hanging nowadays.
find taller branch and longer rope, though jumping part gonna be scary, we can always close our eyes and oopsies, we slipped

But in hindsight, desu I think the math involved in proper hangings are to preserve the head still being attached to the body. If that's not a concern since you're just trying to end it, a far enough drop and everything else done right will definitely kill. Or so I would think. I imagine if hangings could just leave someone a vegetable they wouldn't still do them.

Burn charcoal in a airtight room and you will die from carbon monoxide poisoning which is not painfull cuz your body cant detect it and so you lack the typical symptoms of asphyxiation, its a famous isekai method in korea and recently also in japan and in europe or if you can get access to opioids overdose with that and combine benzos which would be painless too and a bit faster or buy nitrogen gas tank and inhale with a mask which is also peaceful
