Floor manager for a Martin Brower distributor. The supply side to McDonald's. I don't hate it, too much paperwork and I hate being stuck at my desk. The pay is real nice though. I had neet periods, but never more than a few months.
what made you decide to work in a prison
What qualifications do you need for that?
Partly because the pay and benefits are pretty good, and partly because I felt like I was too weak and timid when I was really young. I knew I needed something to force me to be assertive and have a backbone. My other option would have been the military, but I didn't like the idea of being stuck for four years and the pay is straight up shit for enlisted.
Downside for prison work is that it can be a bit stressful even for a "tough" person. I've seen several stabbings, hangings, dead bodies, overdoses, self mutilations, and other suicides like jumping. Some officers have been attacked or stabbed by inmates, but it's pretty rare where I'm at.
