sometimes I wish there were a movie that was a lot more like contemporary "real" life, but with wacky characters like Scott Pilgrim and I guess real queers and punks etc. but all around them was just the contemporary onslaught of extraneous information, brand names, product placement, people harassing them which just punctuates the movie, etc.
