As a gay guy, it is way easier for ftm to pass. It sucks to because their codependency on testosterone grants them an easy pass to believe their journey is one they struggled for. I’m just happy they will get to see the negative side effects of testosterone once there on it indefinitely.

Maybe a hot take but I genuinely believe that MTFs are exaggerating how bad it is. Most will whine about how disgusting and manly they look and meanwhile their pics are of an average looking cis passing woman. They also get upset about an inability to be gigapassoids, and on top of that they get so upset over not looking like the top 5% of cisgender women it's almost ridiculous how fembrained it is.

Survivorship bias. Sort of. If you pass you can go stealth. If you can't stealth then you can't be verified as trans. Therefore most trans people you will 100% recognise as trans are gonna be nonpassing or make the stupid decision of being open about it

I agree that passers are less likely to out themselves on dating apps upfront or even be on them. But the amount that do that is MUCH less than the amount of them that do not pass. You really only need to look at the sheer numbers of the uggos to realize this. Transitioning younger is a much more modern concept as well, so I do think the number of passers will increase over time. But do to the idea of being trans gaining so much popularity in recent years this also means an even bigger uptick of bald men in dresses and speedrun hons
