Theres literally stocks that trade for mere cents and dollars and many of them, if you buy at a good position have potential for massive yields of 500-1000%.

I know almost nothing about stocks and made 300 bucks in my first 3 weeks while still working my full time job.
It has been proven many times that a completely random stock portfolio performs better than anyone who makes choosing, buying, and selling their job. The only reason it's even worthwhile is economy of scale, it only helps the rich get richer, while the poor (celebrating a gain of $300 across three weeks is poor) cannot devote enough time to it to ascend to a scale where they'll truly "make a living" doing it.
