I think that's from much later in the series. The opening scene is first person CG tank POV. The camera is obviously attached to the underside of the turret and moves as it rotates. Also, the CG is so low quality that I felt the beginnings of motion sickness

Demon Slayer looks good. Friends (females) keep telling me to watch it, too. Maybe it's shonen, but I don't think that's inherently bad. The execution just has to be exceptional

I don't care when there's some occasional weirdness. I care when it goes from being occasional weirdness to something similar to the thing porn sometimes does, where it will try to play into as many innocuous fetishes as possible, simultaneously. In this case, it's 'try to be pedo / think women are stupid objects any% speed run'.
Starting out with a footshot is whatever. Following that footshot up with small scenes that:
1. infantilize (and may sexualize) the mc, showing her sleeping in and forgetting(?) that she moved
2. show her walk into a poll
3. dropping something on the ground so she has to crawl under her desk with weird camera framing that just barely avoids her ass
4. only have the camera come back to her face when someone talks to her and she gets so surprised she jumps and hits her head
To be clear, most of this would seem fairly innocuous in isolation. It's easy to just say "whatever" and shrug it off. My big issue here is that all of this happens before we even learn the mc's name, around 6:30 into the episode, with no intro. In a way, it makes sense. I'm fairly certain this anime wasn't intended for western female consumption.
It's easy to dismiss this point in a lot of ways, but I'm not actually trying to judge it in isolation. It's just one extremely glaring example of how misogyny is often deeply embedded into anime. I'm not trying to specifically hate on GuP. If you like it, that doesn't make you a pedo or a misogynist. What GuP's 1st episode got me thinking about was how watching a bunch of anime probably isn't great for MtFs.

it's the writing that's bad, and that's on the mangaka. UFOtable's work on it isn't horrible, tho as always it's the art that people are actually cooming over and not the animation, tho that's not bad either. I just don't care for the show. and using 3D in a feature film when you have movie budget should be a sin, unless it actually allows you to do things you couldn't do otherwise, like in the Rebuilds or the original uses of 3D in traditional animation, like in Great Mouse Detective.
