Yeah this is my conflict with it. On one hand, who am I to say what self-deprecating art someone can make about themselves and their being. But on the other, it is still about a whole group of people, or about a subset which any one of them may or may not ostensibly belong to or be seen as belonging to at any time

Call me a moralfag or whatever if you want but I hope ftms don't actually feel a pang of self-hatred or shame when looking at this stuff. There's too much self-hatred on this board. Like, it's one thing to be depressed and to have dysphoria and to not like not passing, but it's another to really think of yourself as a diseased, lowly, disgraceful being.

I'm a pre-everything mtf. Phenotypically what ftms aspire to. And i hate pooner memes so much. They're so disgusting they're barely even funny. Though i'll admit by barely i do mean barely, they've made me kek. But moreover it's not cool to encourage anyone to have a self image that horrible. Least of all someone else, but even if it's yourself, it doesn't matter if it's your real self or your hypothetical self, it's still not okay. Using a negative hypothetical body image to keep yourself repressing -- if you want to keep repressing, fine, I think that's bad too but that's beside the point, so for the sake of argument, whatever -- but doing it like that causes you real hurt. Because that self-image you're hating on, and resolving to never be like -- it's not actually hypothetical. Sure it doesn't apply to your body at the moment, but it's still a real neural cluster, living inside you. And you're hurting it. To keep yourself repressing, you are literally cultivating a new inner identity that exists just for you to emotionally wound. You think that's healthy? You think just because you look at that fucked up little heckin packer dood in your brain and say, that's not me -- you think just because you know as long as you repress, that's not how you look -- you think just because that negative self-image isn't actually realized -- means all the shame and disgust you're concentrating inside it, is somehow magically gonna stay contained, bundled up, and not come leaking through the synapses and poison the rest of your mind? Negative reinforcement is softcore emotional abuse, that doesn't change just because you're doing it to yourself. If you create the pooner, the pooner exists within you, and you will suffer as him, whether you look like him or not. Every criticism you hurl at him, thinking yourself superior for not ending up like him, is a criticism you slowly absorb into the rest of your brain, until, with time, you, as you are, become the object of your loathing.

I think a lot of them aren't repressors, but yeah I agree with all of that. I think it's true art but I think it's harmful art. I know this is Any Forums of all places and a million people say and show far worse shit every millisecond but there's something especially insidious about this kind of stuff. It's hard to see it just as people laughing at themselves. It's too cruel toward the object and the subject.

This is part of what makes it worse. It's almost like grotesque cartoons made by terfs of "mtf autogynephiles". Some terf cartoons *do* probably partially describe real people. (Just typically very, very few people. Like portraying some race by the worst possible criminal who happens to be of that race.) I know in this case it really is typically made by ftms themselves but as said:
