How do you look at this beast, and say "yeah, this person won't have a competitive advantage"
How do you look at this beast, and say "yeah, this person won't have a competitive advantage"
WHO GIVES A SHIT
if you knew anything about women's swimming you would know that katie ledecky's times absolutely crushed this giga hon and that the current year's competition was a lot worse than previous years
but rightoids can't handle reality
you have to be blinded by ideology. if you press them hard enough they'll say "some people are just bigger than others, deal with it" ignoring that MTF trans people are bigger because they went through male puberty which cis women can't experience
Katie Ledecky is an outlier in terms of performance
>tfw Michael fucking Phelps legitimately thinks Katie Ledecky could go toe-to-toe with him but has not once been concerned with this collegiate-level girl's decent performances
Come back to me when Lia actually competes in the Olympics, until then it's back to pol with you
agreed, so should katie be banned from competitive swimming because she is objectively so much better than every other female swimmer that it's not even close to being fair?
only by 9 seconds
So why shouldn't she be competing with people who can actually compete against her? Isn't her advantage unfair too?
>only by 9 seconds
that is a long fucking time, user
Pro swimmers are concerned with every hundredth of a second they can shave off. 9 seconds is the difference between 1st and 30th at best
>those shoulders
>How do you look at this beast, and say "yeah, this person won't have a competitive advantage"
>we can always tell
>those shoulders are obviously male
Retardbrained
i do think she doesn’t fit the guides for fair competition. but this isn’t an excuse to discriminate against all trans women. even among males and females as a whole, there is quite a lot of crossover in physiological proportions. that isn’t even considering the fact that trans women go through a second puberty. if we want sports to be fair, we create guidelines and those who fit inside should be eligible to compete. we can’t discriminate against a 16 year old girl who got on blockers at 12 just because a 22 year old on hormones for 12 months wins a competition. that is equally unfair, if not more unfair, than what cis competitors are facing
because I'm not dumb enough to confuse a gut feeling with actual data and since all the actual data I've seen says she's just another mid college swimmer so that's what I believe
>doesn’t fit the guides for fair competition
ban katie ledecky
ban katie ledecky
ban katie ledecky
The IOC already bans cisgender women whose advantage is caused by T levels which abnormally high. Trans women are different, though: those have experienced male puberty now have an irreversible advantage over cis women even if their current testosterone levels dropped after starting HRT. This, however, didn't make Lia Thomas massive shoulders go away. Competing against her is like competing against a former steroid user whose body has been permanently enhanced by testosterone. You must realize this, because we always talk about how puberty causes irreversible and irreparabile damage to trans women.
Ledecky, on the other hand, has acceptable T levels and never went through male puberty.
Finally, a good fucking take
The most fair and ethical method is a biometric scale which considers height, weight, bone density, muscle mass, and other more particular factors for each sport. If cis women really cared about their own prestige they'd let their most powerful women compete against men to show that its possible for women to beat men in competition.
Bro, like, who even cares
You care about sports? Fuckin normie
yet ledecky would beat thomas
>The IOC already bans cisgender women whose advantage is caused by T levels which abnormally high.
But if they get on t blockers and get their levels into cis range they can compete again so I fail to see the difference.
She doesn't look THAT bad user. Although the cowboy hat does look a bit silly.
if male puberty is such an advantage, then why is lia thomas an objectively mediocre swimmer? why isn't she destroying katie ledecky's times?
Sorry but these body frames are completely different. This is clearly a male and if you defend this you're genuinely retarded
"cis women" aren't disqualified for having abnormally high T, intersex women are disqualified for having abnormally high T. those guidelines only apply if the women in question have a Y chromosome, there are no testosterone guidelines for XX women.
>hurr durr your blood has to be exactly like this to compete
Sports are inherently unfair
Why do people suddenly give a shit? It's because they can use it as a cover to hate trans people
>permanently enhanced
How do we know that the factors involved in undergoing an initial testosterone-dominant puberty are absolutely permanent? Furthermore, even if Ledecky has normal T levels, how is she physically capable of utterly crushing all her competition? What influenced her wingspan to grow that wide and her muscles to become that dense, and what makes those biological factors fair?
I'm as fucking genderqueer as you'll get and I still say: it's biological sex and puberty that matters to athletics.
