You must live in an alternate reality, everyone I know who has needed help and tried to get it from cops, the cop either laughed or threatened them with arrest, or they ended up getting assaulted, or at best the cop did nothing. Including me.

police as an institution serve to protect the interests of whomever instructs them. sometimes that genuinely is the community, sometimes it's an oligarch, sometimes it's just the personal agenda of their chief/sheriff. i'm largely neutral toward them.
