Most translators in general suck at their job, and most official translations are rife with major errors. Like sentences having their meaning completely reversed once a page/episode/whatever isn't uncommon, and botching finer points of semantics is near universal.

Most of the stuff that weebs cry over though are actually the correct translations though, they're just westoids seething that japs don't share their semetic sense of morality.
