It's recent. Ever since Any Forums broke containment in 2016 the site has been plagued by rampant transphobia where as before most people just ignored us, or even liked us.

It is an unfortunate recent development. The site was actually usable before the past few years. On 2015 r9k, a significant percentage of the userbase were people erping and being ironically flamboyant LGBT posters, and though they were called out for being annoying shitposters nobody called them any transphobic slurs.

There were always anti trap Any Forums types on Any Forums as far as I remember back to 2009 or around then. Anglin and stormfront were very active here at the time. A lot of people will tell you how Any Forums was a pro tranny paradise or if you go to Any Forums they will tell you it was a based and redpilled paradise but the fact is it was always gangs of retards flinging shit at each other and every now and again produced some solid gold. The trap stuff on Any Forums was always pretty pornographic in nature and not really political, I think the real tranny war started in 2014 with people like Brianna Wu and Emily Grosineski being extremely vocal in fighting the online right and it's snowballed from there.

I'm a late 2010 midfag and the current wave of transphobic seethe is definitely a 100% recent development. Around 2011-2012, the worst it got was "haha look at those crazy Tumblr trannies thinking all cis people should die" and trap threads were all over Any Forums.
A couple years later it was just making fun of otherkin and tumblr/leddit SJWs, and then it became a big topic on Any Forums when Caitlyn Jenner transitioned, but still pretty tame overall.
The current wave of vitriolic kneejerk hate is entirely a product of the last 2-3 years at most.
