If you're right then this is exactly as I predicted. I've been hearing things along those lines since the Karolinska decision. People from Sweden telling me that across the country there have been rumors of shutting down most gender clinics. Horrible. Absolutely horrible. It recontextualizes some of the things I've noticed over time. Many Swedish studies, especially from Karolinska, gave transgender women very high doses of cyproterone acetate for years and years. It'd be trivial to start low and ramp things up but they didn't bother. Studies frequently use sex-based categorization for sexual orientation, rather than just going with androphilia and gynephilia. A recent study I've read suggested using brain scans to gatekeep people. I've heard anecdotes of the gatekeeping apparatus being sexist, outdated, and focused on stereotypes. Hondosing is also common. Together I get the impression that the establishment was only reluctantly treating transgender folks and is now reversing even that. This is so grotesque and evil.
