Estrogen patches are not worth it

they fucking suck. everyone said you can just stick them on your lower stomach and forget about them for a week until you swap them out. that’s not even remotely true.

they contort every fucking time you move the center of your body. they shift and lift off your skin and stick to themselves.

they’re not waterproof, if you take a shower they get fucked up. simple as. i even tried using waterproof film dressing and somehow they still get water underneath them and lose their adhesiveness and maybe their effectiveness too.

they leave rashes on your skin that take forever to go away and are very clearly visible if you choose to go out in a crop top.

they’re way more expensive than pills and for way more trouble. it’s not worth it at all. i bought a ton of estrogen patches in advance and i’m pissed because they seriously suck and i could have used that money for pills which i know are actually doing what they’re supposed to be doing and don’t prevent me from sleeping in certain positions or having to buy fucking tegederm to tape them down just to take a shower.

I was told to put a nexcare bamdage over mine and it works a lot better its like 3m tape, doesn't come off during anything

>I am too retarded to use estrogen patches
This is the tl;dr

i’m gonna try this but the cvs brand ones which say “waterproof” on the front of the box have proved totally useless. so i don’t have high hopes for any other brand.

ok then einstein, please explain to me what i can do to make these issues not happen

they look cute tho imo

i agree they look cute when they’re on but the rashes afterwards are not cute

i wish i could get patches here so that i dont have to take one millionth of a pill every 3 minutes for it to stay at a stable level...

yea i just bought pills without knowing anything about them bc i’m angry desu. how many times do you have to cut each pill up (say for a 2mg pill, how often would i need to take a part of it for a solid consistent level?)

Works for me unironically
I make sure to shave patch areas the day before application and clean my skin wt isopropyl alcohol just before

how does it not come off when you shower??

idk, my gf has had good luck with them. she swaps hers out twice a week, and one of those days lines up with the days I bring her up to visit. she lets me take the old one off and put the new one on. I like to kiss her tummy in the spot the last one was at, and to kiss the new patch once I put it on her (she alternates sides). unsure as to the reason why, but it feels really intimate and I'm genuinely psyched whenever I bring her up for a couple nights and she brings it up like "you know it's Monday, right?" and let's me fill in the blank then I start hootin and hollerin like a goof bcuz of the excitement

i don’t get what i’m doing wrong.

thanks for warning anonette. If it helps at all the pills are dirt cheap with insurance. I pay like $10 a month for estradiol and spiro combined

they don't work for everyone it sounds like. Go with what works for you.

They just don't?
Some batches can have bad adhesive and excessive sweating like after a run can make them fall off but it's usually not a problem.

just do injections, goofus
they're totally foolproof

What a retarded thread lmao
Firstly if you're getting rashes then perhaps you should stop using them? Did you ever consider that you aren't supposed to get rashes from them? Are you only changing estradot once a week?
I've been using them for 3 years now and they are waterproof
The lower stomach isn't the only place to put them nor is it the best area, you generally want to put them where there's a lot of fat so your hips or the top of your ass
What are you doing with the residue? I've found that using isopropyl alcohol to rub the residue off can help stop rashes after you remove it
They aren't necessarily better than pills but they are healthier for you, if you're paying significantly more why not just go with pills instead?
Personally patches are a pain because you need to prepare the skin before, you need to have a shower, clean the skin, shave the area and then wait 30 or so minutes until the skin is dry and apply it

I'm on systen/evorel patches. I put them on my butt about 10 minutes after my shower. ended up with itchy red skin the first few times, now that only happens when when I sweat a lot. they do not come off at all and it hurts to peel off even after a few days. sticky residue easily rubs off with water, don't even need soap. my endo said it's fine to use denatured alcohol before application but i rarely do so

i like them, they also give me outoftheroof levels >350pg/mL on 100 μg

>The lower stomach isn't the only place to put them nor is it the best area, you generally want to put them where there's a lot of fat so your hips or the top of your ass
that’s weird bc the instructions said to put them only on my lower abdomen or upper ass? i’m not doubting you i just don’t think all patches work in all the same places. i use climara currently

part of the problem is there’s no way to know if the patches are actually working without getting a blood test?? where with pills and injections you obvi physically see them enter your body
