Why do transbians constantly talk specifically about their lesbian identity?

Because straightness is the norm. Also a lot of transbians probably spent their life wanting to be women, but in their minds felt like that couldn't be the case because they're not "gay". The fact that they can still be attracted to just women and transition is a huge lightbulb moment for a lot of them, which is why they make a big deal out of it.
