Hiei was not based on Vegeta.

who the fuck is scunky

Character from a shounen ai manga series called Patalliro!. Togashi actually mentioned the author, Mineo Maya, as a major influence during his Jump Ryu interviews

Hiei is not a parody of Vegeta

Best boy

He plays off of the other protagonists very well

I mean Hiei is obviously influenced by Vegeta, but he’s not really a parody.
He’s the stoic dark haired tragic past friend trope done right

Hiei wasn't a parody of Vegeta. He didn't spend his entire character arc obsessing over a pissing contest and rematch with his rival.

>He’s the stoic dark haired tragic past friend trope done right
He wasn't always that. He started out as a generic evil Demon no different from Rando or Gouki. His "true form" was also that green skin with all the eyes because he was originally supposed to be an eye demon and not a flame apparition with transplant. It's why you never saw this form again.

eye demon > flame apparition

wtf its still ongoing from the 70s

I mean yeah he started off that way. But he became his own thing and a genre defining character. And even today, he still holds up as a great character(his backstory during Three Kings was actually the best part of the arc)

He didn't say that

Fujos

>was supposed to be the rival of the main character
>modeled after degenerate youth criminal
>is actually the most based character in the show with a heart of gold
how did he do it?

Early YYH was weird. I always forget.

he's dumb that's how

>became one of the most beloved characters in shonen

According to who? At best he's moderately famous but definitely not "one of the most beloved shonen characters".

YYH was supposed to end after Yusuke gets revived after sacrificing his egg.

Doesn’t he act like an edgelord a lot?

>posts two false statements
What did OP mean by this?
