Nah early ones were dogshit. Making an armored tracked vehicle with appreciable reliability and speed is difficult without strong enough engines. The armored train in that situation was stupid as hell. A short artillery barrage could completely cutoff part of the track and the Titans could attack from that side. Really on defense field artillery should be sufficient to stop most Titans, unless they parachute behind you. In that case some sort of turrets would be useful.

Tanks wouldn't make much sense, and rail armor/artillery is incredibly simple compared to tracked armor. In fact it was used in the American Civil War even.

Imagine cruiser level firepower on land with the mobility and range to get from one side of russia to the other in a couple of days, armoured trains are heavily underrated because people dont understand logistics, if they did armoured trains would still be used as anti air and anti partisan platforms to protect supplies
Imagine, naval anti air weaponry on a highly mobile ground unit that is also a completely self contained infantry regiment with armour support, which does not need a logistics chain and rather can be a part of a logistics chain

That's the ideal environment for tanks to operate in, they are the modern equivalent of calvary.
A tank squadron could easily out flank a group of titans.

litterary no , armor is good in stopping things up to 50 kg (like for example 5-10 kg apfsds round)
if you ram 50t ww2 tank at m1a3abrams both will get destroyed / immobilise kill
with the level of tech they had they should develop trucks that can go off road 100km/h and shoot 90 mm+ high exposive shells at titans necks ,
also the move the titans pulled out against navy would simply not work if they would put shitload of mines in the sea (titans submarines swimmed with they heads to the front , whole head would be ripped of by navy anty battleship mine)
