no in the original version he is killed by krillin who he asked to blast him so he could eat a stupid bean and become stronger. krilin didnt want to do any of it but when pushed he blasts him and refuses to give him the stupid bean and he dies. he is wished back by accident when all who were killed by freeza and his men are wished back and shows up for a instant when goku and freeza are fighting to talk shit before being taken to earth by the same wish. he never begs goku to avenge their race
