>get tattoo
>this may disqualify you from working fast food in nippon
What the fuck is wrong with Japan
Tattoos
How the fuck does this surprise you?
Lurk more.
Good, tattoos are trash.
Getting tattoos might not be the hottest idea ever if you're planning to work retail, yes.
>How the fuck does this surprise you?
It's not 1950, are you a time traveler?
something something yakuza and age old tradition of criminal branded tattoos. kids may see them as fashionable but companies who want to keep up a spotless appearance would rather not hire them.
Good.
>Getting tattoos might be the hottest idea ever if you're planning to work retail, yes
Fixed
The author seems to be doing fine

That haircut should disqualify that creature from living.
Post hair
>be 16
>back then kanji were super popular for tattoos
>get a tattoo on my neck just behind and below my ear
>it's the kanji for luck
>LOL YOU'LL NEVER GET A JOB WITH THAT TATTOO
>making $90k USD for a company that provides servers and data storage for google, facebook, apple, etc
>travel to different countries roughly every 2-5 years
>installed a data center for some nip company in Fukuoka
>get strange looks through the whole thing
>laugh all the way to the bank
Thirty fucking years of having a visible tattoo on my neck and never once have I ever gotten passed over for an interview, fired, dumped, kicked out of an establishment or church, yelled at, or denied service.
Take your fake outrage somewhere else. Literally nobody gives a shit about tattoos.
This. Anyone who has ever had friends on here would know how much tattoos would fuck with your chances of employability, especially if you have them around your neck, face, or arms. The interviewer will think you’re a felon and will not hire you, even if you’ve never been to prison before. My friend fucked his life up by getting a tattoo on his face, not a wise choice.
had a friend get accosted by yakuzas in japan due to having tattoos all over his arms.
this is definitely a thing
I associate tattoos with criminals.
You got strange looks because it probably looked like this to them.
Tattoos are associated with the yakuza in Japan; apparently a lot of bathhouses will refuse service to people with them, too
Personally I'm of the opinion that they're just disgusting regardless (piercings too, for that matter), and can't really blame anyone for treating them as a red flag in any context
We're talking about different workspace and occupation here; F&B service industry vs publishing. You may think everyone can be burger flippers or cashiers but there's still a coorporate ladder to climb and PR image to maintain. Meanwhile, anything goes when it comes to the more liberal industries like designers, musicians, writers and artists. If anything, the author might have written the story based on his past experience and decide to go for a career change.
tl;dr companies and HR decides the policies. Pick one that's tattoo friendly and everyone can go about their business.
better yet, be self employed and independent.
Most manga publishers are owned by yakuza, yakuza own and manage lots of clean bussines
>have tattoo under ballsack thats hiragana for wealth
>no one notices
>make 150k
EZ
>Anyone who has ever had friends on here would know how much tattoos would fuck with your chances of employability
It doesn't fuck with your chances at all. Literally nobody cares.
>The interviewer will think you’re a felon and will not hire you
Having been an interviewer this is patently false.
A background check will take care of whether or not someone is a felon, not tattoos.
>My friend fucked his life up by getting a tattoo on his face, not a wise choice.
Anecdotal evidence reliable? One man says "Yes"
good
>just behind and below my ear
wow so nobody ever saw it lmfao
