Da fuck? It happens all the time. If anything LotGH completely fails because historically, Aristocratic Monarchies get fucking obliterated by Liberal Democracies in wartime. There is no way in any universe the Empire, a society so backwards and obsolete it literally runs on agricultural serfdom, would have lasted a year against the Alliance, much less the centuries it did in story.
