We've seen other mages use normal guns but he seems to be the only one who mixes them with magecraft. Seems like a pretty useful thing to have at the expense of a few ribs if you can give your opponent a "magical vasectomy".
Why is he the only mage to use guns and magecraft combined?
Don't you feel embarrassed to be a filthy secondary?
It's funny how no source material in Fate ever explains how a person's Origin is confirmed. We know how an Element is determined, but not how an Origin is. Kerry combines what little magecraft he's got with guns to get one over retards like Kayneth, and because that's literally the extent of his arsenal and firepower. If it weren't for Avalon, Kirei would've turned him into paste.
Because he is the bone of his gun
To be fair. his origin makes any mage without a fuck ton of commands seals fodder to him.
Kerry literally wins over magis because they are always orthodox in their way of thinking and fighting, literally the only time he fought and unorthodox magi Like Kirei he got his heart crushed in the first blow exchange.
This and also Kerry Conterder Anti-Magic Bullets only works when the mage have their circuits activated so without that is only a high caliber bullet, that's is the reason why the bullet does not fried Kirei circuits to defeat Kerry you only need to prepare a bulletproof coating that doesn't need your circuits to work.
so basically everyone else is stupid to make the main character look smart
Nope, mages actually doesn't need guns to fight and if you need a gun means that you're a shitty mage (Kerry is in fact a shitty mage) and most mage look down guns because is easy protect yourself against bullets (the thing is that Kerry Origin bullets have anti-magic properties)
Does he still make his special bullets out of his bones? Seems like a unsustainable way to fight mages, and soft caps him from improving as a mage
A fixed number were made from one of his crushed up ribs, and the woman who made them for him is dead.
As a mage, he only was given part of his family's crest so he wouldn't get that far anyway.
He doesn't shoots his origin bullets like cheeseburger school shooter, out of the 37 he made the first time, he was only forced to use 9-10 in his entire life.
Origin is more of a Kara no Kyoukai thing, it gets brought up in Fate but is only really explained there.
You would need guns to fight magically resistant beings
He "wins over" because his fight with wheelchairs was badly written.
>main character
Kerry isn't an mc (fate, because of its million spin offs doesn't have one). He has two fights in entire zero, one well written, against kotomine and one badly written.
Kerry uses tactics no one else does to exploit a magical loophole no one else has, in a technique that he didn't even come up with himself. His mentor was the real genius here.
What wins Kerry fights is that he knows how other mages work, how they think and what they rely upon. The mages he hunts are usually mistaken about him: either they think he is just a gunman and get blind sided by the magic, or they think he is a mage like they are (lol Kayneth) and get blind sided by his nonmagical tactics.
On a good day, any mage that KNOWS what Kerry is doing could easily defend against it. But he kills people before they have a chance to figure him out. Usually.
>main character
user...
Most of the creatures capables of resist magic would probably resist a gun shoot
>He "wins over" because his fight with wheelchairs was badly written.
He wins because his origin bullets literally destroys magic circuits because his Origin and Kayneth Mercury monster was connected to his circuits
>On a good day, any mage that KNOWS what Kerry is doing could easily defend against it.
Those mages are usually killed by Kerry origin bullets, because you need a Military Vehicle Bulletproof Armor to be able to non magically stop a Contender Shoot at close range and if you use magic Kerry bullet would sever your magic circuits because the spells that could protect you again a Contender shot in close range are useless again'ts Kerry Origin Bullets
I know how it works but I always found that encounter unsatisfying, not the conclusion mind you, such versatile mage as Kayneth shouldn't be potrayed as a one trick pony who in the middle of it all forgot how to heal himself.
Yeah, its a pretty good trick. That said, there probably ARE magical defenses that you could use that would still work. Your defense just needs to be evasive in nature rather than blocking or tanking the hit. If the bullet never hits you, you're safe. Maybe that means you go incorporeal like a ghost, maybe that means you timeskip out of the way, maybe that means you open a tiny portal in the bullets path and send it to egypt. Whatever. The point is that you use a defense that denies the origin bullet its strengths rather than playing into them and eating shit.
I mean if they're goal is to dodge, so mages can avoid it. They don't have to straight up tank it. That was always the glaring weakness.
>Most of the creatures capables of resist magic
Only the ones with regeneration, maybe
Also we are talking about enchanted assault rifles and bazookas here
Those are already powerful and can easily rip apart mundane materials easily.
If you reinforce them to shoot bullets faster or have a larger explosion then they will be effective against pretty much anything without a very fast Regen ability
Kerry shoot Kayneth with the contender twice, the first one was a normal bullet to fool Kayneth that his Mercury thing was effective, the second one was a Origin Bullet and Kayneth tanked the bullet fooled because his Mercury gelatin blocked the other one, Kayneth didn't known about Kerry Origin Bullet and when he found out was already too late and kerry already did the magic vasectomy.
Not just that, the first shot was also strong enough that Kayneth noted that he would have to power up the mercury shield to stop it at close range. So Kerry tricked Kayneth into using his magic circuits right when it would do the most harm, and Kayneth thought it was his own idea.
