I finished the OVA. Was pretty good, very 2000's. I'm not sure why though but the sound effects in the first episode felt very muted.

It's not really terrible (though you shouldn't take this to mean that it's great), but it's not really R.O.D. either. There are 3 different protagonists, and Yomiko appears eventually as a shy side character.

Once you accept that it's something else, I think it's greatest flaw is that it's a bit bland.

She has some very peculiar bone structure with varying length for arms and a extremely long and bendy spine.
