There's a lot of OVA that got only VHS and LD releases. The crazy thing is that already LD are starting to fall apart, and in a few decades they will be gone entirely. Then VHS and the original film reels soon after that.
It's mindblowing that media that has wide release can simply vanish within someone's lifetime if someone doesn't make a backup. The pirates ripping LD OVA might be the only reason future generations even know about these productions.
I agree completely. Fortunately, there are enthusiasts out there working their butts off to preserve them. youtube.com/watch?v=xa3pAcaIgFk

fagboy filims ain't doing shit for laserdisc. They're just clout chasing faggots. It's unfunded fan projects like Orphan or PPP-RAW that are doing laserdisc rips.
Does Japan ever do remasters for these? Like ever? I assume they're already lost to time since Japan is very stubborn when it comes to technology and they have no offsite/softcopy backups.

You'll never find a new diamond by going back to the same one you've seen over and over. You have to dig through the trash.

Lots of really good anime were pretty much unavailable to the west and stuck on laser disc despite being really good.Only recently have we gotten more watchable versions. Peak the Whale and Hashire Melos come to mind.

Widespread media chugs lost media's semen 100% of the time.

They made LD players up till 2009, when did they stop making anime available in LD? They were definately still making them after DVDs became popular. What was the last ones available?
