What are the most influential anime? I tried making a list:

>Dragon Ball (Z) - First "modern" Shounen
>Neon Genesis Evangelion - Arguably the most famous genre deconstruction
>Sailor Moon - First "modern" magical girl anime
>Pokemon - Biggest franchise on earth
>Astro Boy - First "proper" anime
>Spirited Away - Only anime with an oscar
>Akira - Gave rise to the blockbuster for anime. Defined the 80's for anime just about.

Dragon Ball influenced the big behemoths like (but not limited to) the big 3 which influenced countless shonen manga. I dare say the genre would've been dead by now without DBZ.

Oooo, nice feet

Precure - The most commercially successful and longest-lived magical girl anime

Kimetsu no Yaiba - anime that broke the box office record of a Japanese movie and a single-year toy sales record in the shortest time

No Devilman, Mazinger G or Cutie Honey

>influential

Sailor Moon was the most popular magical girl anime, but it wasn't close to the first magical girl anime, see something like Minky Momo
>"modern"
as defined by what?
also you need earlier gundam, someone already mentioned mazinger z

Yeah Devilman is up there for influence at least as much as Dragon Ball if not a little more.
Hokuto no Ken has been very influential for a decade and it inspired the drawing style of Jojo and Berserk.
One piece inspired every bad copy by Mishima.
Also Go Nagai led to Gundam, Gundam led to Eva, Eva led to all kinds of weird shit in the late 90s. So I would put all three.

I'm referring mostly about Manga (except for Gundam and Eva) if you wanted to point that out

Beserk, since that first part of the manga/anime elevated the industry in literally sense.

Akira was super iconic and succesfull but I don't think it had direct influence as much as say Ghost In The Shell, which basically inspired all 2000s scifi American cinema

Bible black. It rocketed the hentai genre to popularity.

This triggered Any Forums and the rest of the tribe for some time.
I am sure it is influencial.

Most shonen come from Dr Slump, Dragon Ball, Slam Dunk, and HXH. You could argue JJBA as well but it's clearly not as influential as HXH.

lol
lmao even

I hope this is b8, HxH comes directly from Jojo and nothing similar comes from HxH. I love it but is not influential, just very good.

>You could argue JJBA as well but it's clearly not as influential as HXH.
delusional HxHfag, even putting HxH next to dragon ball is laughable.

astro boy was the first to shoot arm beams tho

how come no one mentioned Haruhi yet? it definitely spawned the LN adaptation craze

and Gundam was very influential in taking mecha into a more political/serious tone
