Elves are insanely pure and romantic in the setting. City Elves like Lefiya are more normal, but orthodox forest Elves like Ryu are super restrained.
For comparison- while the series has shown us that Elves don’t like being touched by non-Elves, some of them might even promise/vow to never let anyone but their husband or wife touch them. That’s completely normal.
Ryu had quite literally never touched a man until Bell took her first time. Until then, the only women she’d touched were Syr, Alize and Astrea. That’s the totality of everyone she touched in her entire life to date. They’re a whole species of touched starved romantics. Which is why they’re so great. And Bell, being as innocent and pure as he is, completely bypassed Ryu’s usual defensive reaction to flinch away from any touch. He’s a danger!
